Urgent Hiring: In‑Home Dementia Care Support Needed - Gloster, MS 39638

Helper Rate: $20 per hour

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced female helper to support a client with a history of stroke and mild dementia. The client is wheelchair-bound and has limited function on the left side following a recent stroke.

The client can get up from bed but requires assistance and benefits from patient, attentive support with personal care and daily routines. She enjoys watching TV, listening to music, exercising, and reading.

Care Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing using the client's shower chair
• Provide incontinence care
• Assist with transfers and mobility as needed
• Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance
• Provide companionship and engage the client in activities she enjoys
• Assist with light household chores, including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Sweeping
  • Laundry
  • Washing dishes
• Provide gentle reminders and supervision due to mild dementia
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment

Schedule

• 3–5 days per week
• 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Consistent scheduling to be coordinated with the family

Ideal Candidate

• Experience with stroke recovery, wheelchair care, and personal care preferred
• Comfortable providing incontinence care and bathing assistance
• Experience with dementia care and redirection is a plus
• Patient, compassionate, and attentive
• Physically capable of assisting with transfers safely
• Reliable and dependable

This role is best suited for a helper who is experienced with hands-on personal care and mobility support and can provide patient, compassionate assistance to a client recovering from stroke while managing mild dementia. The ideal caregiver will help maintain her safety, dignity, comfort, and engagement throughout the day.
