Overview
Are you a detail-oriented Xero Bookkeeper or Accountant with experience in construction and wholesale financial operations?

We are partnering with a rapidly growing construction and wholesale business to find a detail-oriented Xero Bookkeeper/Accountant. In this part-time role, you will maintain accurate financial records, optimize accounting workflows, and ensure precise tracking across inventory and project-based expenses. You will also provide clear balance sheet visibility and actionable reporting to assist leadership with key decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records, perform routine bank reconciliations, and execute necessary journal entries in Xero.
Process vendor bills, customer invoices, and complex container import purchases, distributing landed costs appropriately across cost categories.
Manage cost of goods sold entries, inventory tracking, and historical bookkeeping cleanups.
Generate financial reports and deliver profitability analysis categorized by project, customer, and asset or liability accounts.
Provide financial insight and strategic visibility to support ownership with cash flow management and decision-making.

Must-Have Requirements
Demonstrated experience managing financial operations using Xero.
Solid understanding of job costing, cost of goods sold, and project profitability.
Experience managing inventory tracking, landed costs, and import-related transactions.
Strong knowledge of general bookkeeping principles, account reconciliations, vendor bill processing, and balance sheet reporting.
Familiarity with U.S. accounting practices and tax-related bookkeeping classification requirements.
Ability to work a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week with EST overlap.

Nice-to-Have Requirements
Experience or background in home building, cabinet or closet supply, or related building materials sectors.
Experience handling multi-state wholesale financial operations.
Familiarity with tax-related bookkeeping in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.
Professional accounting or bookkeeping certification.
