What you'll do...

Act as the strategic architect for Sam’s Tech AI evolution by identifying where AI, automation, and modern technology can materially improve efficiency, member experience, and operational performance. This role bridges the gap between emerging technology and enterprise execution bringing structured thinking, analytical rigor, and strong business judgment to help shape how Sam’s Tech applies AI at scale.
The role partners closely with Business, Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders to identify high-impact opportunities, translate technical capability into business value, and accelerate strategic outcomes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Opportunity Identification
  • Conduct deep dives into the AI and technology landscape (GenAI, agentic workflows, LLM infrastructure, automation platforms) to identify meaningful opportunities and risks.
  • Develop structured opportunity assessments grounded in business impact, feasibility, scalability, and operational value.
  • Distinguish signal from noise in a rapidly evolving AI ecosystem and develop clear points of view for leadership.
Strategic Planning & Operationalization
  • Build prioritization frameworks and “value maps” for AI and technology investments across the organization.
  • Design and lead AI sprints or strategic initiatives to prototype high-impact internal tools or member-facing capabilities.
  • Define ROI and value realization metrics to ensure AI investments drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner cross-functionally to operationalize successful initiatives into scalable capabilities and operating models.
Executive Partnership & Influence
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, helping shape narratives, recommendations, and executive communications around AI and technology transformation.
  • Represent the office of the Sam’s Tech Operating Partner in strategic planning and steering discussions.
  • Drive alignment across Business, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to maintain momentum on enterprise priorities.
What You'll Bring
  • 3-5 years at a top-tier management consultancy (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc.) or a high-growth strategy/special projects organization, combined with 5+ years in a strategy or product role within a tech-first company.
  • First-principles thinker and strong generalist who can quickly synthesize ambiguity, identify root causes, and structure complex problems.
  • Strong understanding of AI and emerging technologies, balanced with strong judgment around where technology should and should not be applied to drive business impact.
  • Able to identify operational or technology inefficiencies where AI and automation can create meaningful leverage.
  • Technically fluent in modern AI concepts (LLMs, agentic workflows, RAG, infrastructure considerations), with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to independently analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • High EQ, low ego, and able to influence across highly matrixed organizations without formal authority.
  • Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity and translate technical concepts into business value.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

3 years’ supervisory experience.
