The Philanthropy Engineering team advances Walmart’s commitment to responsible business by creating cloud-native backend services using open-source technologies. Collaborating with engineers, UX designers, and product managers, the team delivers scalable, maintainable solutions supporting initiatives like disaster relief and community programs. Emphasizing technical expertise and innovation, members apply agile methodologies and leverage skills in Spring Boot, APIs, Java, and cloud databases to build reliable, efficient software. The team fosters a collaborative environment focused on impactful technology that aligns with business goals and enhances community engagement.
What you'll do:
- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
- Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and feedback integration.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, and GraphQL.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture principles such as microservices, containers, and automation.
- Ability to conduct system design reviews and apply software design patterns effectively.
- Skilled in API design, software prototyping, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Familiarity with DevOps engineering practices and platform tooling development.
- Capacity to mentor peers and influence technical decisions for sustainable solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
