UX Designer , GOEST (Global Operations Enterprise Services - Tech)

Summary

The UX Designer will lead end-to-end design for Amazon's internal enterprise tools, conducting user research and building design patterns to support global operations. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and product teams to simplify complex workflows for thousands of users.

Ever wanted to design the tools that keep Amazon's global infrastructure running, from ground-up construction through decades of daily operation? This is your chance to shape how thousands of people experience enterprise software that actually matters.

We're looking for a UX Designer who thrives on complexity and loves making it simple. You'll own end-to-end design delivery for products used by project managers, field engineers, site leaders, and finance analysts across 50+ countries. You won't just push pixels; you'll run design consultations, conduct field research, build reusable design patterns, and ship experiences that directly impact safety, speed, and cost at a massive scale.

This is a high-autonomy role. You'll be embedded with engineering teams, facilitating design reviews, and making daily decisions that shape how people do their jobs. If you want ownership, variety, and the satisfaction of seeing your work used by real operators in real buildings, keep reading.

Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end design delivery for multiple concurrent projects: user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready specifications

Facilitate regular design consultation sessions, providing expert feedback to product teams on in-progress and pre-launch work

Conduct design quality assurance on shipped features, identifying discrepancies between design intent and implementation

Build and maintain a domain-specific pattern library extending the corporate design system with reusable components

Run regular design office hours, offering guidance and early directional feedback to any team that needs it

Conduct user research (shadows, interviews, usability tests) to validate decisions and surface unmet needs

Contribute to cross-team experience strategy, information architecture, and long-term vision for a unified product suite

Collaborate daily with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to translate complex business requirements into clear, intuitive experiences

A day in the life
Your primary focus is shaping the end-to-end user experience for internal tools that support strategic planning and investment decisions. You'll partner closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex workflows into intuitive, scalable designs. A typical day might include leading a design review, synthesizing research findings into actionable recommendations, or prototyping solutions for problems no one has solved yet. Beyond the regular beat, you'll influence design direction across adjacent teams and help establish UX standards that raise the bar for the broader organization.

About the team
You'll join a small, high-impact design team embedded within an organization of 200+ teammates managing 100+ enterprise technology products. These products enable teams worldwide to plan, deliver, and operate a global network of 5,500+ physical sites across 50 countries. Our UX practice is in its first year. We're building from the ground up: defining how design works, how it scales, and what great looks like. Culture: we move fast, ship iteratively, and let evidence drive decisions. Expect variety, autonomy, and colleagues who care deeply about the people using what we build.
