UX/UI Designer
Summary
Merapar, a professional services firm rooted in Media & Entertainment, seeks a UX/UI Designer (Netherlands, remote-friendly) to shape a brand-new mobile and web product helping small businesses manage leads, quotes, invoices and payments. Day to day: user research, wireframes, prototypes and building a design system in Figma with a cross-functional team.
About Merapar
Merapar is an international technology and software engineering organisation that helps organisations turn complex technology into reliable, high-performing platforms. With deep expertise in cloud, data and AI, we work for leading clients across Europe, from strategy to production-ready delivery.
We are becoming an AI-first organisation. That means we use AI in how we build, test and deliver software for our clients, and in how we work ourselves. We are looking for people who want to help shape that.
The role
We are building a new digital product for small businesses, such as sole traders, tradespeople and local service providers. Many of them still run on phone calls, messages, paper notes and spreadsheets. Our product brings the customer side of their business together in one place: attracting customers, sending quotes and getting paid, on mobile and on the web.
As our UX/UI Designer you join a cross-functional team with a product manager, front-end and back-end developers and a data engineer. You shape the experience from the first concepts all the way to launch. AI is part of your daily work: you use AI tools for research synthesis, prototyping and design exploration.
What you will do
- Do user research into how business owners find customers, quote for work and get paid
- Create user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes for mobile and web
- Design clear and efficient experiences for admin tasks such as quotes, invoices and customer records
- Design trustworthy interactions for important moments, like sending a quote or recording a payment
- Build and maintain a design system for both platforms that follows brand and accessibility guidelines
- Use AI tools to speed up research synthesis, prototyping and design exploration
- Work with the product manager, developers and data engineer on product direction, visuals and experience
- Keep improving designs based on user feedback and analytics
What you bring
- Experience as a UX/UI or Product Designer, with a portfolio that shows your process as well as the end result
- A strong understanding of user-centred design principles
- Experience designing for both mobile and web
- Strong skills in Figma or similar design tools
- Experience with user research and usability testing
- The ability to explain your design choices to technical and non-technical people, and comfort with an early-stage product where not everything is defined yet
- You use AI tools in your daily work, or you are keen to learn how they make you and your team better
- You speak and write English fluently and understand Dutch well
Nice to have
- Experience designing data-driven features, such as dashboards, reports or customer records
- Experience with products for small businesses, or with quoting, invoicing or payment flows
- Experience setting up a design system from scratch
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, so you know what is realistic for developers to build
What we offer
- A salary of €2,500 – €4,000 per month, based on your experience
- Training and certification in AI, cloud technology and Agile
- Hybrid working, with our office in Veldhoven as home base
- Self-organising teams that work on Agile principles
- The chance to shape a new product from the very start, with real influence on how it looks and works
