V.I.E. React FullStack Developer
Summary
A 24-month VIE placement in Montreal on Société Générale's risk-management team: designing, building, and deploying full-stack web components, Web APIs, and automated CI/CD pipelines that support governance and risk processes. Core stack includes React, TypeScript, NestJS, and Azure.
ResponsibilitiesDepartmental strategic priorities:
- 1. Provide IT solutions to strengthen the overall governance processes by mandating evidence that supports the validated framework
- 2. Implement automated workflow processes to facilitate risk management processes, e g periodic risk assessment campaigns, tracking subsequent action plans, etc
- 3. Implement data integration and centralization functions to strengthen risk monitoring processes, e g metrics, control anomalies, etc
Main missions & clients:
- 1. Remediate regulatory and internal audit findings that pertain to the absence of a robust governance framework through process automation (e.g. periodic certification/assessment)
- 2. Expand and extend risk management capabilities to achieve consistency and comprehen siveness of existing risk management framework (e.g. ongoing monitoring and normalization of controls)
- 3. Strengthen oversight functions and 1LOD accountability by improving visibility into issues and action plans requiring attention (e.g. Issues Management).
Responsabilies:
- Participate in the commercial and technical analysis of user stories in collaboration with your teammates and other collaborative teams.
- Develop and deploy software components that deliver proven and real business value.
- Ensure that each component to be delivered is properly tested according to the test strategy defined by the team
- Proactively research the best technologies and practices for the problem to be solved: security, scalability, maintainability and ergonomics.
- Keep technical debt to an absolute minimum by applying your best software crafting skills.
- Contribute to releases, monitoring and support.
- Participate in finding and fixing bugs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our solutions
- Participate in the improvement of our continuous integration and continuous delivery processes in the pre-production and production environments.
- Be a team player and cooperate in pair programming and code review sessions.
- Share best practices and technological knowledge with your teammates.
Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master degree from Engineering School or University with a specialization in Computer Science
- 1 year previous experience would be appreciated
Language skills:
- Fluent in English
Technical, operational & soft skills:
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Significant experience in designing solutions and implementing Web APIs using an object-oriented language
- Strong software skills and the art of developing software to the highest quality standards
- TDD, BDD, testing strategies and how to ensure regular and predictable releases so that it becomes a permanent event
- Experience building and automating continuous integration pipelines
- Experience in single page application development.

This VIE in Montreal is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.
