Validation Engineer (VE) Winter/Spring Co-Op (Jan-June '27)

Description

We are seeking a Validation Engineer (VE) Co-op in our Mobile Solutions Business (MSB) unit in Skyworks Newbury Park, CA design center. You will be part of a VE engineering group in support of high-volume power amplifier products and sub-systems for cellular handset applications assisting VE to setup tests, gather, analyze and summarize the data. You will also help design engineers optimize the module by tuning. Looking for somone who is a driven and committed team player.

Duration of Co-op assignment: up to 6 months from January to June 2027

Responsibilities

o Working with a senior VE to setup tests and gather data for compliance matrix
o Performing lab testing using RF test equipment and analyzing/summarizing the data
o Working with a design engineer to help optimize matching circuits for better module performance

o Multiple Internal Software for Data Analysis
o Microsoft Office/Outlook

Hardware Tools Used:
o Network Analyzers
o Spectrum Analyzers
o Signal Generators
o Digital Receivers
o Load-Pull/Tuners
o RF Probe Stations

Required Experience and Skills

o Enrolled in a BSEE (or MSEE) program with emphasis in RF and Power amplifier theory or equivalent.

o Circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF.
o Understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability.
o A self-starter and team player with ability to learn on the job.
o Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Desired Experience and Skills

o Hands on experience in lab debugging.
