Valuation officer - AIFM (m/f)

The candidate will join the valuation team of our Luxembourg-based AIFM, taking responsibility for the review and approval of valuations for illiquid assets. The Valuation Officer will work with strategies involving private equity, real estate, private debt, infrastructure, and fund of funds, ensuring accurate and fair valuations, and contributing to the overall valuation process. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the Valuation Committee.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review and validate valuations for illiquid assets, including private equity, real estate, private debt, infrastructure, and fund of funds strategies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed valuation models and methodologies, and document these in details in each Fund’s Valuation procedure.
  • Prepare valuation reports and documentation for the AIFM Valuation Committee and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and gather relevant data to support valuation assumptions and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and monitor & improve the implementation of Procedures and Controls related to valuations.
  • Participate in the Valuation Committee as voting member and approve asset valuations.
  • Participate in valuation-related discussions with the clients.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Between 4 and 8 years of relevant experience in asset valuation, preferably within an AIFM or a financial services firm.
  • Strong expertise in valuation techniques and financial modelling, particularly for illiquid assets such as private equity, real estate, private debt, infrastructure, and fund of funds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with specialized valuation software and tools is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to valuations and compliance standards.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
