Valuations Specialist
You will lead independent price verification and valuation methodology for OTC exotic derivatives. You will develop automated valuation controls, validate pricing models and market data, define fair-value adjustments and reserves, support product onboarding, and embed valuation controls across trade lifecycle and financial-close processes.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage independent price verification for OTC exotic equity derivatives.
- Develop, validate and enhance independent price verification methodologies with the OTC trading desk.
- Design and implement a globally consistent valuation approach for OTC instruments.
- Define and implement prudential and fair-value adjustments, reserve methodologies, and valuation uncertainty controls.
- Source, validate and maintain independent market data for valuation and independent price verification.
- Manage external market-data and consensus-pricing vendor relationships for OTC valuation.
- Develop a P&L attribution framework and Day 1 P&L reserve frameworks for Level 3 valuations.
- Lead the IFRS fair-value levelling approach for Level 3 derivatives.
- Define and track valuation KPIs.
- Support new product and trade onboarding, including pricing model verification, market-data configuration, and initial valuation sign-off.
- Partner with control functions to embed valuation controls across the OTC trade lifecycle.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in valuations control, product control, or quantitative finance focused on OTC derivatives.
- Deep technical understanding of exotic option pricing, pricing models, calibration, Greeks attribution, hedging, and model-dependent payoff risk.
- Hands-on independent price verification experience across derivative instruments.
- Knowledge of derivatives valuation accounting standards, including IFRS 13, IFRS 9, CVA, FVA, and XVA.
- Market-data knowledge, including curves, volatility surfaces, consensus marks, broker data, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, and Markit/Totem-style services.
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis to non-technical audiences.
- Experience building controls, improving workflows, reducing manual intervention, and delivering in a fast-moving environment.
