A vehicle technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic systems in various automotive vehicles.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Run advanced diagnostics. Use specialized scan tools to read fault codes and isolate system errors.
Trace electrical faults. Read wiring diagrams to locate shorts, broken circuits, and sensor failures.
Evaluate mechanical issues. Inspect engines, transmissions, and drivetrains to pinpoint wear or failure.
Isolate fluid leaks. Pressure-test cooling, braking, and steering systems to locate fluid containment failures.

Repair & Component Replacement

Overhaul major assemblies. Remove, rebuild, or replace faulty engines, gearboxes, and transmissions.
Service braking systems. Replace worn brake pads, resurface rotors, and bleed hydraulic lines.
Fix suspension components. Install new shock absorbers, struts, ball joints, and steering linkages.
Maintain HVAC units. Recharge refrigerant, replace cabin filters, and repair climate control actuators.
