We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester / Workshop Technician to join our busy, highly respected independent vehicle service centre. The Rewards
- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year basic (Tailored directly to your hands-on testing experience and technical skillset).

About Us
We are a premier independent service, repair, and MOT centre equipped to test across Class 4, 5L, and 7 vehicles. Beyond standard consumer cars and light commercial vehicles, we manage specialized testing for local authority fleets, taxis, VSIs, and minibuses. Our facility features a clean, well-organized workshop and modern testing bays, giving our testing team everything they need to operate safely and productively.
Your Role
As a core MOT Tester / Workshop Technician on our team, you will:
- Conduct Class 4, 5L & 7 MOT tests in full accordance with DVSA legal and safety standards.
- Perform specialized fleet inspections, including taxi compliance checks, VSI checks, and minibus safety inspections (full training provided).
- Identify necessary repairs and provide clear, accurate testing reports to the service team.
- Maintain compliance with all workshop health and safety regulations while keeping testing bays clean and organized.
- Collaborate closely with workshop technicians to ensure efficient workflow and high customer satisfaction.
What You Need
- Qualifications & Experience: Active, valid DVSA MOT Tester licence (Class 4 & 7 essential; Class 5 capability is a major advantage). Proven track record as an MOT Tester or Technician within a professional workshop setting.
- Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Equipment & Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge across varied vehicle systems, proficiency with testing equipment and hand tools, keen attention to detail, and a pride in delivering thorough safety checks.
