Vertical Transportation Engineer
The Senior Vertical Transportation (VT) Engineer shall be responsible for managing all vertical transportation systems throughout the project lifecycle, including passenger elevators, service elevators, freight elevators, fire-fighting lifts, escalators, moving walkways, and associated control systems. The role requires extensive experience in the design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of VT systems for large-scale developments such as stadiums, airport terminals, high-rise buildings, mixed-use developments, hospitality projects, and major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will coordinate with clients, consultants, VT suppliers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure all VT systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and operational objectives.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline. • Minimum 10 years of experience in vertical transportation systems. • Proven experience in large-scale projects such as stadiums, arenas, airport terminals, high-rise towers, mixed-use developments, hotels, hospitals, or major public facilities. • Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries is preferred. • Experience on Diriyah projects will be considered a significant advantage. • Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator systems, traffic analysis, people movement studies, control systems, and integrated building operations. • Familiarity with international standards and regulations, including EN 81, ASME A17.1, ISO standards, SBC requirements, and local authority requirements. • Experience in design review, shop drawing review, material approvals, installation supervision, testing, commissioning, and project handover. • Experience working with major VT manufacturers such as Otis, KONE, Schindler, TK Elevator, Mitsubishi Electric, or Hitachi. • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and BIM-related software. • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills. • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
