Vessel Operator (Dry Bulk)
Summary
Coordinates day-to-day operations for dry bulk vessels, including scheduling, port calls, and cargo handling, while liaising with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating the day-to-day operations of dry bulk vessels.
- Monitor vessel schedules and voyage progress to ensure timely execution.
- Liaise with vessel owners, charterers, agents, terminals, masters, and port authorities on operational matters.
- Coordinate port calls, cargo loading and discharge activities, and voyage documentation.
- Monitor vessel performance, port turnaround times, and operational updates.
- Prepare and maintain voyage files, operational records, and reports.
- Verify Statements of Facts (SOF), cargo documents, and operational invoices.
- Support the resolution of operational issues, delays, and off-hire matters under the guidance of senior operators.
- Work closely with the Chartering and Operations teams to ensure smooth voyage execution.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Business, or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates are welcomed.
- Strong interest in the shipping and maritime industry, particularly dry bulk operations.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the shipping industry.
