Veterinary Assistant

VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is adding a part-time ER/ICU Veterinary Assistant to our team.

Location: 16756 SE 82nd Dr, Clackamas, OR 97015

Compensation: $21 - $28 / hr w/shift differential of $2.22/hr

Schedule: PT every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 11pm

In This Role, You Will:

• Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.

• Collaborate closely with Criticalists, ER Doctors, Specialists, and fellow technicians.

• Perform triage assessments and assist with patient stabilization.

• Utilize advanced technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusion support.

• Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing subtle changes in patient status and communicating findings to the medical team.

• Assist with emergency procedures and advanced treatments.

• Educate clients and provide clear discharge instructions.

• Help create a positive, collaborative environment focused on outstanding patient care.
