Your externship is an opportunity to connect what you’ve learned in the classroom with the realities of clinical practice. Work alongside our veterinary team, ask questions, explore your interests, and gain insight into the skills that will help you thrive as a future veterinarian.
During your experience, you’ll have opportunities to:
- Build clinical confidence: Participate in patient assessments, physical examinations, and discussions about diagnostic and treatment options.
- Learn from experienced veterinarians: Observe clinical decision-making and gain valuable insight into managing a variety of medical cases.
- Expand your medical knowledge: Gain exposure to preventive care, diagnostics, dentistry, and medical management of canine and feline patients.
- Explore hands-on learning: Depending on your experience level, patient needs, and supervising veterinarian, participate in appropriate clinical activities and observe or assist with procedures.
