Veterinary Surgeon
Love getting to the bottom of a challenging medical case? Want access to excellent diagnostic facilities, an interesting caseload and a supportive team, without working in a 24-hour hospital?
We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our thriving, three-vet practice at our Temple Fortune practice on Finchley Road, NW11.
Ideally, you’ll have a particular interest in internal medicine, diagnostic investigations, and ultrasonography. We’re open to a candidate who wants to focus predominantly on medicine, as well as someone who enjoys a varied clinical role that includes surgery.
A practice with a difference
Our practice started as a startup in 2019 and has grown into a busy, established clinic with a loyal client base and a rewarding, varied caseload.
Co-owned with Medivet, the practice is led by a Branch Partner with over 30 years of veterinary experience. We’ve built a clinic where clinical standards, continuity of care and strong relationships with clients really matter.
Although we’re a first-opinion practice, the nature of our caseload and the size of our team give us something of a hospital feel. We see a high volume of medical workups, complex cases and second opinions, giving our vets the opportunity to investigate challenging presentations and follow cases through.
The difference? We’re not open overnight, so you can enjoy a stimulating clinical role without the demands of working in a 24-hour hospital.
For cases requiring facilities or procedures beyond our capabilities, we have access to Medivet’s Hendon 24-Hour Hospital and its wider diagnostic and referral services.
Clinical facilities
We have invested in the equipment needed to investigate and manage a rewarding medical caseload, including:
● A MyLab Fox ultrasound machine.
● Full dental equipment, including dental radiography.
● Up-to-date in-house laboratory including zoetis imagyst and patient-monitoring equipment.
● Access to CT and MRI facilities.
● Access to endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment through our wider clinical facilities.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be a qualified MRCVS with at least four years’ post-qualification experience and a genuine interest in clinical medicine.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Your working week
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, worked over four days.
The rota includes either:
● One full weekend in six at Hendon 24-Hour Hospital; or
● One Saturday in three on a two-clinic run.
Vets share bank holiday and on-call duties, typically involving two to three bank holiday shifts and two to three weeks of on-call per year.
Come and meet us
If you’re an experienced vet who enjoys investigating challenging cases, values good clinical facilities and wants to remain involved in a varied caseload, we’d love to meet you.
We’d be delighted to show you what we’ve built and explore what you could bring to the practice.
Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:
