Veterinary Surgeon – Ophthalmology Certificate Holder (or working towards)

Description

Ready to take the next step in your ophthalmology career?

Join Medivet Anfield and help develop ophthalmology services across Liverpool and Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon who holds an ophthalmology certificate, or is nearing completion, to grow their specialist caseload and establish themselves as a key clinician across our network.

With around 30 Medivet clinics feeding into the service, there is excellent potential to build a thriving caseload, with the aim of progressing towards a predominantly ophthalmology-focused role within the first three to six months.

Based at our established first-opinion practice in Anfield, you’ll have access to a dedicated ophthalmology theatre and investment in equipment and facilities, with a key role in influencing what is introduced. You’ll also benefit from our in-house ophthalmology clinical community, offering opportunities to connect with potential mentors and share knowledge through a dedicated forum.

Initially, you’ll combine ophthalmology with general practice, so you’ll need to be confident with routine surgery and medical procedures, with limited sole charge. The role is 40 hours per week, including a one-in-six weekend rota at Medivet Holder, with potential for a local run across the area.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone keen to develop their clinical interests, build their reputation and shape the future of ophthalmology across the region, supported by a strong network of referring practices.
