BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

BluePearl is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional anesthesia team. This collaborative group includes a board-certified anesthesiologist, experienced anesthesia technicians, and Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS) who are dedicated to delivering the highest level of anesthetic and pain management care.

As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Develop patient-specific anesthetic and pain management protocols under the guidance of the attending anesthesiologist or service clinician
• Provide anesthetic support for a wide variety of procedures, including:
  • Soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurologic surgeries
  • CT and MRI imaging
  • Radiation therapy treatments
  • Internal medicine and specialty procedures
• Monitor patients throughout all phases of anesthesia using advanced multi-parameter monitoring equipment
• Recognize, troubleshoot, and respond appropriately to anesthetic complications
• Provide consultation and support for departments managing critically ill patients requiring sedation or anesthesia
• Place intravenous catheters, perform endotracheal intubation, and maintain anesthesia equipment
• Perform patient assessments and identify abnormalities requiring clinician attention
• Set up and manage intravenous fluids and continuous rate infusions (CRIs)
• Operate and troubleshoot a variety of infusion pumps and monitoring equipment
• Utilize strong medical math skills to ensure safe and accurate patient care
• Assist in the management and monitoring of critical patients during on-call and after-hours cases under clinician supervision
