Vice President Engineering

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on VP of Engineering (Full Stack) to lead our engineering team and drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performance software products.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in React.js, Python, MySQL, and cloud-based application development, along with experience leading engineering teams and managing end-to-end product development.

This role requires a combination of technical leadership, architectural thinking, hands-on development, and team management. Experience with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Leadership & Strategy:

- Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence.
- Define engineering architecture, technology roadmaps, coding standards, and development best practices.
- Drive end-to-end product development, from requirement analysis and architecture to deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with founders, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Build and scale engineering teams while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

2. Full Stack Development:

- Lead the development of scalable and responsive frontend applications using React.js.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and REST APIs using Python and frameworks such as Flask.
- Design and optimize MySQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Ensure seamless integration between frontend, backend, databases, and third-party services.
- Establish reusable components, modular architecture, and maintainable codebases.

3. Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps:
- Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications using platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

- 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, full-stack development, and technical leadership.
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Strong backend development experience using Python.
- Experience with Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, database architecture, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
- Strong understanding of application security, scalability, performance optimization, and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams, mentor developers, and drive technical decisions.

Good to Have:

- Experience working with Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-powered applications.
- Familiarity with Google Gemini, OpenAI APIs, Vertex AI, or other AI/ML platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as:
1. Cloud Run
2. App Engine

3. Cloud SQL
4. Compute Engine
5. Vertex AI
6. Cloud Storage
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, vector databases, and embedding-based search.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI application architectures.
- Experience building SaaS products and multi-tenant enterprise applications.
- Experience working with healthcare technology, medical software, or enterprise workflow automation is an added advantage.
