Vice President, Human Resources
At Fieldpiece, we believe exceptional businesses are built by exceptional people. As we continue to grow across the U.S. and expand our global footprint, we're seeking a Vice President of Human Resources who can elevate our talent, strengthen our culture, and build the organizational capabilities needed for our next stage of growth.
Fieldpiece is a privately held, global leader in professional HVACR tools and test instruments. We're known for developing innovative products that technicians rely on every day - and for investing in our people, our technology, and our future. Named one of the Best Places to Work in Southern California for four consecutive years, we're looking for talented people who want to make an impact while growing their careers.
Reporting to the Chief Strategy and People Officer, this is a highly visible, hands-on, executive leadership role that understands that developing people is the most sustainable competitive advantage. This is not a role for someone who wants to operate from the sidelines. We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on leader who can influence at the executive level while being deeply involved in HR activities and staying connected to the people and teams that make Fieldpiece successful. You’ll lead a small team to accomplish transformational HR initiatives across talent development, organizational design, workforce planning, on/off-boarding, total rewards, and global HR operations - all while fostering a high-performance culture rooted in humility, accountability, and growth. You'll have responsibility for three locations in the US (CA, UT, GA) and in most countries in Western Europe and Australia.
This position requires being on-site every day in our current Orange, CA office with an exciting move to Tustin, CA in 2028. Travel up to 15% is anticipated.
What You’ll Do:
- HR Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead and mentor a team focused on human resources, employee relations, learning and development, office management, total rewards (compensation, benefits, and culture), talent acquisition, onboarding, and compliance.

- Champion the Fieldpiece Culture and Ways of Working across all locations (California, Utah, Georgia, Europe and Australia).
- Talent Development & L&D

- Upskill workforce and plan for AI and technology advancements

- Oversee total rewards strategy including compensation, benefits, and incentive programs
- Ensure competitive and equitable pay practices aligned with market trends

- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (California, Utah, Georgia), and international labor laws and regulations (Western Europe and Australia)
- Partner with legal teams on employee relations, policies, and risk mitigation
- Manage employee policies, compliance with required training programs and safety programs
- Global HR Leadership
- Support and expand global HR operations, with a strong emphasis on Europe
- Navigate regional employment laws, cultural nuances, and operational complexities
- Resolve employee relations issues
- Align global HR practices while maintaining local relevance in each location
- Manage employee experience and drive engagement within the full employee lifecycle
- Office Leadership
- Be the site leader for the California office and ensure the office runs smoothly including facilities, safety, rewards, etc.
What Makes You Successful
You're equally comfortable discussing business strategy in the boardroom and coaching leaders through real-world people challenges. You understand that talent development is not an HR program - it's a business strategy. You have the vision to think long-term, the courage to challenge the status quo, and the humility to build trust across all levels of the organization.
Most importantly, you believe that great cultures don't happen by accident - they are intentionally built, strengthened, and sustained through strong leadership and continuous development.
