Vice President of Design
You will lead the end-to-end design quality of client-facing product, web, and other touchpoints. You will set the long-term design vision, own design performance metrics, lead operational planning, and scale a unified design system. You will partner with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Compliance, Security, and AI teams to create cohesive, secure, and trust-building experiences. You will oversee research, journey mapping, usability testing, and customer discovery, and recruit, mentor, and lead a remote multidisciplinary design organisation.
Responsibilities
- Define, champion, and execute the long-term design vision for client-facing mobile and web touchpoints.
- Own metrics that demonstrate design's business impact and report them quarterly at the executive level.
- Run design as an accountable business function, including headcount planning, prioritisation, and delivery.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure consistent brand expression throughout the user journey.
- Oversee user research and journey mapping to improve complex financial, banking, and crypto payment flows.
- Scale and govern a unified design language and Figma system.
- Embed regular usability testing and customer discovery before handoff.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership on strategy and product requirements.
- Establish a safe, governed framework for AI tools in asset creation and UX personalisation.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a remote multidisciplinary design organisation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of digital design experience.
- At least 4+ years in an executive design leadership role managing multidisciplinary design teams.
- Experience in a high-growth fintech, neobank, or digital asset platform.
- Portfolio demonstrating complex interactive product design and established brand identity work.
- Track record of improving business and design metrics through design-led initiatives.
- Experience streamlining design workflows and partnering with marketing, product, and engineering.
- Knowledge of iOS and Android platform guidelines and modern web standards.
- Experience scaling enterprise-grade design systems.
- Familiarity with UX and trust challenges in fintech, banking, and digital assets.
- Executive communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience leading in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.
