Vice President of Engineering, Fiat Infrastructure
You will own the engineering platform that moves money across fiat rails on behalf of every Ripple product, reporting to the SVP of Engineering. You'll take a foundational execution domain that touches every cross-border payment, stablecoin issuance, OTC trade, and custody flow, and turn Ripple's existing position — money transmitter licenses across dozens of jurisdictions and direct integrations with banks and payout partners — into a unified platform shared across every Ripple product. You'll define clean, reusable interfaces for other product teams, maintain real-time operational visibility, build an AI-native engineering organization, and play an active role in expanding the fiat network through banking partnerships, licensing, and potential acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Own the full fiat infrastructure domain across control plane, execution plane, and network layer
- Define clean, reusable interfaces every product team builds against
- Maintain real-time corridor health, prefunding visibility, and proactive issue detection
- Build the engineering organization as an AI-native operation using agentic development practices
- Expand Ripple's fiat network by structuring banking partnerships and deploying the licensing portfolio into new markets
- Evaluate whether acquisitions can accelerate corridor or network coverage
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Business Development on global licensing strategies and banking partnerships
- Partner across Payments, Custody, Stablecoin, and Markets as a shared platform owner
Requirements
- Deep experience operating fiat payment infrastructure across multiple corridors and jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of payment rail mechanics such as ACH, SWIFT, Faster Payments, SEPA and regional equivalents
- Experience operating live financial networks with instincts around partner quality and network expansion
- Proven experience building unified, shared core infrastructure platforms used across multiple internal engineering teams
- Strong architectural judgment around extracting reusable platform layers from complex systems
- Operator mindset comfortable staying close to production and diagnosing system-level constraints
- Genuine interest in the business of financial networks including banking relationships and licensing strategy
- Ability to engage credibly with banking partners, regulators, and commercial counterparties
- Track record of building trust across engineering, product, operations, and external counterparties
