This role requires someone who can balance financial strategy with hands-on execution, collaborate closely with operational leadership, and translate financial data into actionable business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor finance and accounting personnel, establishing performance expectations and accountability.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, financial institutions, and financial service providers.

Financial Planning & Business Performance

  • Evaluate contract pricing and profitability using fully burdened labor costs, including wages, overtime, payroll taxes, benefits, insurance, and other direct operating expenses.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets, financial forecasts, cash-flow projections, and long-term financial plans.
  • Evaluate financial performance across business divisions, branches, and client contracts, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Analyze labor costs, overtime, staffing utilization, contract pricing, and operational expenses.
  • Develop scalable financial models, reporting structures, dashboards, and key performance indicators to support executive decision-making and organizational growth.
  • Partner with Operations and executive leadership on business planning, growth initiatives, and financial strategy.

Cash Management & Risk Oversight

  • Oversee working capital, cash-flow forecasting, banking relationships, and credit facilities to ensure financial stability during periods of growth.
  • Develop cash-flow models that account for payroll funding requirements, client payment cycles, and fluctuations in workforce demand.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of payroll, employment tax, wage-and-hour, insurance, and other regulatory compliance risks in partnership with HR, Legal, and Operations.
  • Ensure material financial liabilities, commitments, and identified risks are appropriately assessed and incorporated into financial reporting, disclosures, and forecasts in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and accountability across business units.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Lead the implementation of AI-enabled financial solutions, automation, and scalable reporting processes that improve efficiency, accuracy, and integration across financial and operational systems.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial systems, reporting platforms, and operational workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, reduce manual processes, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional leadership to improve data integrity and system integration.

Executive & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Partner with Operations, HR, Payroll, and Legal to align financial objectives with business needs.
  • Provide clear financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen financial accountability, organizational efficiency, and long-term business performance.
