Vice President of Human Resources
Position Overview
A rapidly growing multi-state home healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources to lead and scale its HR function. This executive-level role will oversee HR strategy and people operations across corporate, administrative, clinical, and field-based teams.
Reporting to executive leadership, the VP of HR will lead employee relations, compliance, payroll and benefits oversight, workforce planning, HR systems, leadership development, and organizational growth. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring regular travel to company locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR strategy and operations across a multi-state, multi-location organization.
- Advise executive leadership on workforce strategy, growth, employee relations, and people-related decisions.
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, performance management, compliance, policies, and complex employment matters.
- Provide oversight of payroll, benefits, leave management, workers' compensation, HR systems, and employee records.
- Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning, retention, staffing, leadership development, and engagement.
- Build scalable HR policies, processes, reporting, and infrastructure to support growth.
- Support acquisitions, new locations, integrations, and expansion initiatives.
- Lead and develop the HR team while ensuring consistent practices across locations and states.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience leading HR across multiple locations and/or states.
- Strong background in employee relations, employment compliance, payroll and benefits oversight, and workforce management.
- Experience supporting large, diverse, hourly, field-based, or high-volume workforces.
- Healthcare, home healthcare, long-term care, or another regulated healthcare environment strongly preferred.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to advise senior leadership while remaining hands-on.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000–$250,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time executive position based in Brooklyn, NY.
- Regular travel to company locations required.
