What you should know about the role
Accountable for planning, development, and implementation of all of the credit union’s marketing strategies, marketing technology tools (e.g., marketing automation platform and ancillary digital communication tools), marketing communications and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees the development and implementation of all support materials and services for the credit union in the areas of marketing, communications and public relations Directs the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations team and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization. Oversees the strategy and deployment of all charitable giving and other social mission related functions, including the Advia Foundation, nonprofit organization partnerships, and community sponsorships. This position aids in efforts to meet the strategic goals of the credit union, including providing outstanding service to internal and external members as defined by living and demonstrating the core values of the credit union; Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships and Keep People at the Core.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides strategic vision and leadership to managers and individual contributors in their downline by inspiring and building a high-performing team. This includes but is not limited to maximizing productivity, efficiency, and innovation within the scope of the departments responsibility while staying connected to the credit union's strategic vision, mission, and goals. Cultivates a learning environment that supports professional development, continuous skill building, and career growth. Promotes collaboration and effective communication within the team and across departments.
- Develops and manages the annual marketing and promotional budget associated with external advertising, market entry tactics, new member acquisition, and member engagement.
- Contributes to the strategic development process, working with other senior leadership on the development and management of key scorecard initiatives (e.g., social mission and member sentiment/growth), and organizational updates to the full team.
- Oversees the relationship management of marketing related vendors, including but not limited to media purchasing agency, print vendors, and marketing technology vendors (e.g., marketing automation platform).
- Oversees all new digital communication tactics, including social media engagement tools as well as innovative tactics such as SMS (text), push notifications, digital banking ads, etc.
- Contributes to lead generation tactics through external partnerships (e.g., predictive analytics, SavvyMoney) as well as targets identified via internal systems (e.g., lead scoring tactics associated with marketing automation platform).
- Oversees the functions of the Advia Foundation in terms of setting strategy, fundraising, financial oversight, and deployment of annual charitable grants and scholarships within all regions.
- Oversees of key communications associated with mergers and acquisitions – partnering with leadership of newly acquired organizations to address member/customer legal notifications, systems integration and onboarding initiatives.
- Oversees the organization’s website content accuracy, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) development, and other health metrics (e.g., American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and Quality Assurance).
- Achieves financial goals by establishing initiatives; developing budgets; controlling costs; maximizing use of assets. Ensure continuing analysis (e.g., partnering with the Analytics team, Google Analytics and Website SEO and other Key Performance Indicator (KPIs)) to measure and improve services.
- Leads the formulation, implementation, evaluation and administration of the company's marketing and market development functions.
- Maintains measurement results on major campaigns and report results to President and CEO.
- Ensures effective communication of marketing programs to all team members.
- Contributes to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action.
- Represents the financial institutions at external functions.
- Ensures that marketing promotions meet or exceed set goals.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines.
