Vice President, Product Department

Role Overview

We are seeking a Vice President, Product Department to lead product strategy, planning, and delivery across our software development and technology consulting engagements. You will translate client needs and business objectives into clear product roadmaps, actionable requirements, and measurable outcomes. Working closely with Business Development, clients, end users, and cross-functional teams, you will oversee the full product lifecycle—from discovery and solution design to development, launch, and continuous optimisation. This role combines strategic product leadership with hands-on delivery oversight, alongside responsibility for strengthening product management processes, governance, and documentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product strategy and roadmap planning, aligning priorities with client requirements, business objectives, and technical feasibility.

• Translate business and user needs into actionable product plans, clearly defined requirements, team OKRs, and measurable success criteria.

• Define and prioritise product requirements, release plans, and iteration strategies, balancing business value, delivery effort, resources, and project constraints.

• Partner with Business Development to develop solution proposals, define project scope, and align client expectations with delivery capabilities.

• Lead discovery discussions with clients, end users, and internal stakeholders to validate needs, clarify requirements, and guide product decisions.

• Direct end-to-end delivery of 0-to-1 software initiatives, covering discovery, solution design, requirements reviews, development, QA, phased rollout, and post-launch optimisation.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams to manage dependencies, resolve delivery issues, and maintain alignment on scope, priorities, timelines, and quality standards.

• Oversee competing priorities across multiple engagements, identifying delivery risks and facilitating timely decisions.

• Establish and continuously improve product management processes, governance practices, and documentation standards to support consistent and scalable delivery.

• Monitor product performance and delivery outcomes, using relevant metrics and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in senior product management or product leadership within software development, technology consulting, or a related environment.

• Proven track record of delivering 0-to-1 software products, from discovery and solution design through launch and ongoing optimisation.

• Strong capabilities in product strategy, roadmap planning, requirements definition, prioritisation, and release management.

• Experience working directly with clients and commercial teams to translate business needs into practical, scalable software solutions.

• Sound understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile delivery practices, quality assurance, and release planning.

• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery oversight and manage competing demands across multiple engagements.

• Experience establishing product processes, documentation standards, OKRs, and performance metrics.
