Summary

Lead enterprise architecture for CIMB’s Retail and Corporate Digital Banking, defining cloud-native, secure, and scalable solutions while modernizing core banking systems and guiding cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Enterprise Architecture strategy, target architecture, and multi-year roadmap across Retail and Corporate Digital Banking.

• Define and govern architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns across business, application, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, and security domains.

• Chair or lead architecture review and design authority activities, ensuring solution designs meet functional and non-functional requirements before implementation.

• Guide architecture for key banking capabilities, including digital channels, onboarding, deposits, payments, cards, lending and LOS, transaction banking, corporate banker portals, customer servicing, and core banking integration.

• Drive modernization and simplification of the technology landscape through APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-native platforms, and controlled legacy-system transformation.

• Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, availability, resilience, cybersecurity, data protection, regulatory compliance, interoperability, observability, and cost efficiency.

• Partner with Product, Business, Engineering, Data, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Group Technology to translate strategic priorities into executable architecture roadmaps.

• Manage architecture governance, technology standards, exception processes, application lifecycle, technical debt, and architecture risks across the portfolio.

• Lead and coach solution architects, domain architects, technical leads, vendors, and outsourced partners while ensuring design quality, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and support technology investment, build-versus-buy, platform selection, vendor assessment, and strategic sourcing decisions.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Enterprise Architecture, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in software development, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or technology delivery within banking or financial services.

• Familiar working with at least 1 popular Core Banking Solution

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar leadership position, such as Head of Architecture, Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, or Lead Solution Architect.

• Strong experience designing and modernizing Retail and Corporate Digital Banking platforms and customer journeys in a regulated banking environment.

• Deep understanding of banking technology domains, including core banking, digital channels, payments, cards, deposits, lending and LOS, transaction banking, integration platforms, CRM, and data platforms.

• Strong architecture knowledge of cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, integration patterns, identity and access management, and data architecture.

• Experience establishing architecture governance, design authorities, reference architectures, technology standards, roadmaps, and application lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and modelling practices such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, capability mapping, and architecture repository management; relevant certification is preferred.

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, technology risk, data privacy, regulatory compliance, operational resilience, disaster recovery, performance, and non-functional requirements.

• Proven leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, communication, vendor management, and decision-making capabilities with senior business and technology executives.
