Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Strategic Partnerships based in the United States.

The Vice President, Strategic Partnerships will drive the growth of a personal lending business by building and scaling high-value enterprise partnerships. The role focuses on developing white-label lending opportunities with financial institutions, fintech companies, and major consumer-facing brands, enabling partners to offer financial products under their own brands. You will lead the full partnership lifecycle, from identifying prospective partners and developing commercial proposals to negotiating agreements, managing integrations, and launching new programs. Working closely with executive leadership and teams across Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Product, and Engineering, you will turn strategic opportunities into profitable, scalable business relationships. This highly visible leadership position offers significant autonomy to shape partnership strategy and contribute to emerging AI-driven product initiatives. The role is remote-flexible for candidates based in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, or Delaware, with occasional travel for partner meetings.

Accountabilities:

  • Build, manage, and grow a pipeline of prospective white-label partners, prioritizing opportunities based on strategic alignment, market reach, and revenue potential.

  • Identify and engage financial institutions, fintech companies, and major consumer brands that could benefit from offering personal lending products through an established lending platform.

  • Develop target partner lists, conduct outbound business development, and cultivate relationships with senior decision-makers.

  • Represent the organization at relevant industry events and networking opportunities to expand its enterprise partnership ecosystem.

  • Identify strategic partnership opportunities supporting emerging AI-driven products beyond personal lending.

  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, including partnership economics, exclusivity arrangements, service-level agreements, and branding terms.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to structure commercially attractive agreements that meet regulatory requirements and profitability objectives.

  • Own partnership business cases and internal approval processes, guiding each opportunity from initial terms and proposals through final contract execution.

  • Manage the complete onboarding and launch process for signed partners, including technical integrations, compliance reviews, branding, marketing, user experience approvals, and go-live coordination.

  • Act as the primary partner contact throughout implementation, aligning Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Operations teams to meet launch timelines.

  • Develop repeatable onboarding processes, implementation playbooks, and service-level standards to improve efficiency and accelerate future launches.

  • Monitor partnership economics and commercial performance, helping ensure that relationships generate sustainable revenue growth and long-term business value.

  • Requirements:

    • At least 10 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or a related commercial deal-making role.

    • Demonstrated success sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex enterprise partnerships.

    • Experience in fintech, consumer lending, or financial services, with an understanding of relevant regulatory, compliance, and risk considerations.

    • Proven ability to manage the full partnership lifecycle, from initial prospecting and executive engagement through contract negotiation, implementation, and live launch.

    • Strong commercial judgment and understanding of partnership economics, revenue generation, profitability, and business case development.

    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders at major enterprise organizations.

    • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, including the ability to align Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams around shared objectives and launch timelines.

    • Ability to manage multiple strategic opportunities independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivery discipline.

    • Direct experience structuring white-label or embedded finance partnerships, such as co-branded cards, private-label lending, or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) programs, is preferred.

    • An established network of relationships within financial services organizations or major consumer-facing brands is an advantage.

    • Experience working in a high-growth fintech or consumer lending business is preferred.

    • Benefits:

      • Annual base salary of $250,000–$275,000, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location.

      • Eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.

      • Equity through a stock option plan.

      • Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.

      • Flexible paid time off (PTO).

      • Paid parental leave.

      • Health and wellness initiatives.

      • Opportunities for professional growth and development.

      • Remote-flexible work arrangement for candidates based in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, or Delaware.

      • Occasional travel for partner meetings.
