Vice President Strategy and Research

This role supports Commerce Ventures’ investment and corporate development activities through research, executive presentations, corporate partner relationships, process and metrics management, proprietary data assets, diligence, deal processing, portfolio value creation, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Create in-depth analyses on investment topics and themes
• Present conclusions to external executive stakeholders
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners
• Support processes across key relationships, including KPIs and metrics
• Manage content and processes across CRM and CMS platforms
• Build and maintain proprietary data assets
• Assist with investment diligence and deal processing
• Support portfolio value creation and business development
• Collaborate on strategic initiatives

Requirements

• 4–6 years of total prior work experience
• Equity research, industry analyst, strategy consulting, or specialized financial services or retail consulting/advisory experience
• Experience managing complex research and analytical projects
• Ability to independently structure end-to-end PowerPoint analyses
• Experience presenting findings to senior executive audiences
• Strong attention to detail in logic, formatting, and writing
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship management skills
• Proficiency in Excel and understanding of financial analysis
• Undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution
• Interest or experience in financial services or retail preferred but not mandatory
