Position Purpose and Summary
This position organizationally falls under the Tribal Police Department as operated by the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma and reports to the Chief of Police. Operational hours are Monday through Friday; 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., or as needed to serve the population. The Victim’s Services Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of tribal criminal justice initiatives and programs. The purpose of this role is to strengthen the tribe’s justice system by coordinating efforts between tribal, federal, and state partners and ensuring that programs are culturally appropriate and effectively serve the tribal community. The Victim’s Services Coordinator serves as a key liaison and coordinator for the tribe’s criminal justice initiatives. This position is tasked with managing special projects and grants related to criminal justice reform, and victim services. The coordinator will monitor compliance, analyze program data, facilitate interagency collaboration, and ensure that services align with the tribe’s traditions, customs, and legal codes. They also work to improve outcomes for tribal members involved in the criminal justice system by advocating for culturally relevant services and preventing revictimization by advocacy.
