Video Editor, Regulated Industry (Full-Time Contract, Remote)
Summary
Pearmill, a remote performance marketing agency, is hiring a video editor as a full-time contractor for a regulated-industry client: cutting, versioning, and resizing paid ad videos into five formats, building organic social videos from templates, and QA-ing required disclosure copy across many near-identical versions using After Effects, Premiere Pro, and AI tools.
Who we are
Pearmill is a performance marketing agency. We plan, produce, and run paid ads for brands across Meta, Google, TikTok, and other channels, and our creative team produces the video and static assets that run in those accounts.
We are a fully remote team across the US and Europe, and we use AI tools throughout our production work.
About the role
We are looking for a video editor to work as a full-time contractor with one client in a regulated industry, across their paid ads and organic social. Every asset for this client carries required disclosure copy that must match the approved version exactly.
Most of the work is precision work: cutting and versioning footage that already exists, and making sure everything that appears on screen is approved. We are looking for someone analytical who can QA their own work and build QA systems and templates that keep every version accurate at volume.
Primary responsibilities
Produce multiple variations of each concept, where volume can be high.
Resize every paid video into all required formats (currently five) and adjust framing for each one.
Build organic social videos (Reels and video Stories) from approved templates.
Add and update on-screen elements, including required disclosure copy, across every version.
Work from briefs and plan priorities each week with the creative lead.
Amend assets based on internal and client feedback until they are fully approved.
Maintain a consistently high level of quality on every delivery.
Requirements
5+ years of professional video editing and motion experience, with a portfolio or reel.
Expert in After Effects, comfortable in Premiere Pro, and able to use AI tools in your workflow.
Exceptional attention to detail. You can visually QA every text element on screen, and this is the most important skill for this role.
The ability to keep track of many near-identical versions, which often differ by only a few lines of text, without mixing them up.
Clear, proactive communication with the team. There are many revision rounds, and raising questions or mistakes early is part of the job.
Project files built to our team standards (clear folder structure, descriptive names for files, compositions and layers, live text layers, no unused footage or third-party plugins), so other editors can open them and pick up when needed.
Fluent English, written and spoken, and comfortable on video calls.
Based in Europe, Latin America, or Canada with working hours that overlap US East Coast business hours.
Consistently meets deadlines, including during high-volume periods.
Strongly preferred but not required
Experience editing ads in a regulated industry, including how required disclosures are presented on screen.
Experience working through legal and regulatory review rounds.
Experience building reusable templates: social graphics, After Effects motion graphics templates, or Premiere Pro templates.
How we work
Day to day you work with the producer on this account and with our creative lead. One of our motion designers onboards you and stays involved for reviews.
Batches usually have 2 to 3 days of turnaround, and some client changes come in on the same day.
Briefs, approved copy, and feedback come in through Notion and Slack. Files live in Dropbox with a set naming convention.
You join our weekly creative call, plus short check-ins when volume spikes.
Every delivery gets checked against the approved copy before it goes to the client. You own the first check.
We share workflows and AI experiments openly on the team, and we'd love it if you bring ideas that make this faster or safer.
How to apply
Share your portfolio or reel through the application form. Please include regulated or versioning-heavy work, even if it is not your most visually striking work.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a short paid test.
