Video Editor
Summary
Fully remote contractor role at an eCommerce marketing agency: a Performance Video Editor who turns strategist briefs, studio footage, and B-roll into 40+ high-converting Meta ad concepts per week, using Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro.
About Social Scout
Social Scout is a fast-growing eCommerce agency specializing in email marketing, SMS retention, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
We are seeking a high-velocity, detail-oriented Performance Video Editor to lead our ad creative production. Working directly with our Lead Creative Strategist and Founder (Philip), you will turn script briefs, studio recordings, screen shares, and B-roll libraries into high-converting video ads designed to stop the scroll and drive booked strategy calls.
Compensation & Role Details
Full-time (40 hours per week) and fully remote.
You must be set up and hired as a contractor.
Fluent English required (written and spoken).
Available 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, with flexibility of ±1–2 hours.
Key Responsibilities
High-Velocity Video Editing: Edit, package, and deliver 40+ core video ad concepts per week (yielding ~60 total ad variations through modular hook swaps, aspect ratio cuts, and text overlay variations).
Script & Brief Execution: Transform Creative Strategist briefs into production-ready Meta ads—following detailed time-cuts, visual cues, sound design, and text callouts.
Modular Hook Batching: Systematically generate multiple 3-second hook variations (visuals, text blocks, pattern interrupts) onto winning core body scripts to maximize ad testing efficiency.
Multi-Format Assembly: Reformat ad assets across 9:16 (Reels/Stories/Vertical), 1:1 (Feed/Square), and 16:9 formats.
Asset Organization & Asset Management: Maintain an organized digital asset library (categorizing founder footage, client interviews, B-roll clips, screen shares, case study proof, and text overlay templates).
Pacing & Native Platform Formatting: Apply native Meta editing trends (fast pacing, dynamic typography, subtle audio cues, color grading, and auto-captioning).
Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years of experience editing short-form video ads specifically for Meta Ads (Instagram/Facebook Reels and Feed).
Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut Desktop, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro.
Direct-Response & Pattern Interrupt Mindset: Deep understanding of 3-second visual hooks, text placement, fast pacing, and kinetic typography that drives conversions.
Systems-Minded & Organized: Ability to manage high-volume export pipelines, standardized file naming conventions, and template components.
Detail-Oriented: Flawless attention to audio levels, color grading, text accuracy, and privacy blurring (protecting sensitive client data on screen shares).
