Virtual Legal Writer β€” Plaintiff-Side Pre-Litigation

πŸ“ Location: Remote Scouts Office – Lahore, Pakistan (Onsite)
πŸ•’ Job Type: Full-Time
πŸ•“ Schedule: U.S. Eastern Time (EST)
βš–οΈ Industry: U.S. Employment Law

About the Role

Remote Scouts is seeking experienced Virtual Legal Writers to support plaintiff-side law firms with pre-litigation legal drafting.

This role is ideal for a strong legal writer who can take client statements, records, correspondence, photographs, medical documentation, and other evidence and turn them into clear, persuasive, fact-driven legal narratives. You will primarily work on demand letters, case summaries, liability narratives, damages summaries, and select complaints, with attorney oversight.

This is not a traditional legal assistant or administrative paralegal position. The emphasis is on legal writing, fact analysis, persuasion, and plaintiff-side advocacy.

What You'll Do

  • Draft aggressive, fact-driven pre-litigation demand letters

  • Prepare select complaints, case summaries, liability analyses, and damages narratives

  • Review and organize complex client records and supporting evidence

  • Identify legally significant facts and develop persuasive plaintiff-focused narratives

  • Incorporate relevant statutes, case law, and legal research into written work product

  • Follow firm-specific templates, tone, formatting, and citation standards

  • Use active voice and persuasive storytelling to strengthen the client's position

  • Review and proofread documents for factual accuracy, legal terminology, organization, and consistency

  • Conduct legal research and verify citations using appropriate legal research platforms

  • Collaborate remotely with attorneys, paralegals, and case teams

  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client and case information

AI & Claude Proficiency

Claude is a core component of the firm's legal-writing workflow. Candidates must be able to use AI as a professional drafting and organization tool while maintaining independent legal judgment and rigorous quality control.

You should be comfortable with:

  • Advanced prompt construction and iterative prompting

  • Claude Projects and structured workflows

  • Managing large volumes of case information and documents

  • Preventing AI hallucinations involving facts, dates, statutes, and case citations

  • Source-grounding AI-generated content against original documents

  • Building verification and quality-control loops

  • Recognizing when legal research or attorney judgment is required

  • Reviewing and substantially improving AI-generated drafts rather than accepting first-pass output

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Demonstrated experience in plaintiff-side legal writing or litigation support

  • Experience drafting demand letters, complaints, settlement narratives, liability analyses, or similar advocacy materials

  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and litigation concepts

  • Excellent legal writing, editing, proofreading, and analytical skills

  • Ability to turn complex or disorganized facts into a compelling narrative

  • Strong understanding of plaintiff-side advocacy and pre-litigation strategy

  • Ability to conduct legal research and verify legal authorities

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Claude or comparable AI tools

  • Strong understanding of AI hallucination risks and factual/citation verification

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines independently

  • Excellent written English and professional communication

  • High level of confidentiality, reliability, and attention to detail

Preferred

  • JD, LLB, paralegal certification, or comparable legal training

  • Personal injury, employment, workers' compensation, or other plaintiff-side experience

  • Experience preparing demand packages

  • Experience reviewing medical records and damages documentation

  • Familiarity with Bluebook citation

  • Experience with Westlaw, Lexis, or comparable legal research platforms

  • Familiarity with NYSDHR, EEOC, DOL, or other pre-litigation procedures

  • Experience using legal case-management platforms

  • Experience creating Claude Projects, prompt libraries, or AI-assisted legal workflows

  • Prior experience working with U.S. law firms or U.S. litigation matters
