Virtual Teaching Assistant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Virtual Teaching Assistant based in India.
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and tech-savvy Virtual Teaching Assistant to support instructors and learners in interactive online training programs. In this role, you will help coordinate live virtual classes, manage digital learning resources, and ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience. You will provide real-time assistance to participants, troubleshoot technical issues, and support instructors with classroom activities and logistics. The role focuses on creating an energetic, practical, and supportive learning environment where students can build skills they can apply in their professional careers. You will work with educational technologies and online learning platforms while supporting programs focused on data, engineering, and artificial intelligence. This is a part-time, remote contract opportunity, with training sessions scheduled during working hours in India (IST).
Accountabilities

Assist instructors during live virtual classes by monitoring chat discussions, managing breakout rooms, and addressing technical requirements.

Take attendance, monitor learner participation, and maintain records of classroom activities.

Provide real-time support to participants who experience technical difficulties or need clarification during sessions.

Prepare, organize, and distribute digital learning materials, assignments, and other course resources.

Manage and update online learning platforms to ensure course information and resources remain accessible and organized.

Support the administration of online assessments, quizzes, and other learning activities.

Encourage student engagement through interactive teaching methods and responsive learner support.

Help maintain an organized, collaborative, and positive virtual classroom environment.

Coordinate with instructors to support smooth daily operations and an effective learning experience.

At least 2 years of professional experience in a data-related or engineering-related field.

Previous experience in education, customer service, or administrative roles is an advantage.

Familiarity with virtual learning environments and learning management systems, such as Zoom and Percipio.

Strong digital literacy and confidence using online communication and collaboration platforms.

Genuine interest in artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, and accessible, high-quality education.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask, manage classroom logistics, and troubleshoot minor technical issues.

Dependable, proactive, and comfortable supporting learners and instructors in a remote environment.

Reliable internet access and a quiet, professional workspace suitable for virtual sessions.

Availability to support training programs scheduled during working hours in India (IST). Candidates outside the IST time zone may also be considered if they can meet the required schedule.
