Detailed Job Description: The Department of Science and Mathematics at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) is seeking to fill a 9-month lecturer (non-tenure-track) faculty position. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide direction instruction in biotechnology coursework and, as needed, chemistry and/or biology coursework to students in associate-level programs.
  • Provide tutoring support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students enrolled in baccalaureate-level biochemistry, organic chemistry, and chemistry courses and, as needed, biology courses
  • Already be proficient in American Sign Language as determined by the college sign language proficiency rating system and will use ASL to teach and tutor
  • Fulfill other faculty expectations including those related to service, communication, and diversity.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in biochemistry
  • Prior adjunct teaching and/or tutoring experience (including graduate teaching assistantship work and/or student teaching) with deaf and hard-of-hearing students in biotechnology, chemistry, or biology.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language.
