Visiting Professor
VISITING APPOINTMENT: The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine
A Visiting Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is expected to contribute to the development of research and/or teaching at the School. The appointee is expected to undertake high quality world-leading research in Population and Global Health in line with the overarching research strategy of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
• To Lead or contribute to research projects related to the epidemiology, prevention, and control of major non-communicable diseases (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, mental health).
• Design and conduct epidemiological studies or secondary data analyses using global and regional datasets.
Deliverables:
• Lead/contribute to the writing of manuscripts, reports, and policy briefs for peer-reviewed journals and global health stakeholders.
• Contribute to grant proposals.
• Work collaboratively with local and international partners, research institutions to strengthen NCD research in the PAGH programme.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers and trainees within the programme.
• Present research findings at stakeholder meetings and international conferences.
• Contribute to capacity-building initiatives and training workshops related to NCDs and global health research methods.
• Acknowledge affiliation with LKCMedicine in publications related to work in collaboration with the school.
This description cannot be exhaustive, and the appointee may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Officer, Vice Dean, Research, and Dean.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, or MD with relevant training) in public health, epidemiology, global health, or a related field.
• Proven research experience in non-communicable diseases, with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated experience working in global health or LMIC settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with quantitative research methods and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary, multicultural team environment.
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience with implementation science, health systems research, or policy engagement.
• Interest in translating research into practice and informing health policy.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in global health research.

The level of effort for this appointment is at 1.0 full time equivalent (FTE) employment.
