The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase) is aninterdisciplinary school at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that usesEarth and environmental science, engineering, technology, and the socialsciences to address key environmental challenges. ASE is a school within theNTU College of Science (CoS).

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) (https://earthobservatory.sg/) is a researchinstitute with the mission to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes,volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and climate change in and around Southeast Asia,toward safer and more sustainable societies.

Visiting Professor in Seismology

A Visiting Professor position in Seismology isavailable at the Asian School of the Environment, Nanyang TechnologicalUniversity. The position will strengthen our research and educationalcapabilities in seismology and geophysics and contribute actively to theresearch culture of ASE and the Earth Observatory of Singapore.

Responsibilities:

· Deliverlectures and seminars for the ASE community, including undergraduate andgraduate students

· Co-advise andmentor junior researchers

· Engage with ASE andEOS faculty and research staff to develop research collaborations, includingbut not limited to conference and workshop organization, joint publications,and research proposals

Requirements:

· A relevant Ph.D. from a reputable University

· Strong expertise in geophysicsand seismology

· High internationalstanding and visibility in their field of research

· An excellent trackrecord of research publications

· Relevantuniversity-level teaching experience

· Excellent communication and interpersonalskills.
