Visual Information Specialist
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Marketing Department, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. Provides marketing support to all FSS activities through design and development of a variety of publicity materials and creation of content promoting FSS programming and events. Scheduled shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. STANDING REGISTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Applications will be reviewed, and referrals made every 7 days.
Prepares designs, text, illustrations, content items, and page layouts for printed and digital platforms including but not limited to booklets, blogs, websites, posters, fliers, digital screens, brochures, signs, menus, newsletters, and social media posts. Maintains all FSS social media and digital marketing content. Receives requests for publicity actions from FSS Marketing Director and activities in draft form. Uses own judgment to evaluate and determine the appropriate graphics, verbiage, layout, design materials, and platforms to appeal to target audiences such as teens, young adults, families, and retirees. Ensures the accuracy of all marketing and publicity materials before publication. Maintains and updates current information about FSS activities to include hours of operation, fees and changes, specials, and any other related information as needed. Researches and applies current best practices for marketing techniques used as compared to the private industry to elevate FSS promotions. Provides guidance and recommendations to activity managers on the design and messaging to effectively market and promote to the target audience. Prioritizes work requests and maintains records of services provided to customers. Interacts with, answers questions, provides guidance, and responds to feedback from customers through in-person engagement, social media inquiries or messages and surveying methods. Determines needed supply items and amounts and keeps accurate control of inventory. Ensures equipment is maintained properly and coordinates required repairs. Serves as primary social media marketer and administrator for all social sites including but not limited to: all Facebook pages; Instagram, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, blogs, website and e-newsletter platforms. Manipulates, resizes and/or creates marketing materials to be used for social media. Continuously explores, recommends, uses, and optimizes communication methods and technologies to engage with customers, and to maximize the squadron's branding, products and services. Responsible for maintaining and expanding social media outreach on current and future platforms. Conducts routine checks on the FSS website, to include, but not limited to, daily audits/reviews of content on each page and coordinates with webmasters via the web ticket system to update content. Assists the Marketing Director in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market through digital media forums and/or blogs. Assists in administering surveys, collecting data, tabulating responses, and analyzing results. Tracks user analytics and aggregate data for social online platform(s). Provides support as needed for all special events. Assists with Marketing duties as assigned (processes inside internal ticket system, giving public briefings, and creates event calendar entries, printing, mounting, lamentation, binding, cutting, payroll, customer service...etc.) as needed. Provides photographic/videography support for functions/events as required/needed. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned/needed.
