Summary
Owns Proximus's fixed and mobile voice platforms end to end — designing, testing and rolling out IMS/VoLTE services on cloud infrastructure, writing HLD/LLD docs, troubleshooting cross-layer incidents, and providing L3 and on-call support. Stack: SIP/Diameter/SS7, Voice Core (HSS/HLR, TAS), Linux, networking, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Ansible.
Context Within Network Platforms Mobile (NPM) division, we design, build, install and maintain telco service platforms, CPE and in-home solutions, professional connectivity and communication solutions, and the mobile access strategy. Inside NPM, the Converged Voice Platform (CVP) domain selects vendors and designs, tests, integrates and brings fixed and mobile voice platforms into service on cloud infrastructure. It ensures the evolution of these platforms and their infrastructure, provides a single interface for telephony services and products to Consumer, Enterprise and Proximus Wholesale, and delivers L3 operational support. We are looking for an experienced Solution Engineer to reinforce the team and help deliver secure, resilient and evolutive voice services. Your mission As a Voice Platform Solution Engineer, you take end-to-end technical ownership of assigned services and projects, from design through implementation and operational hand-over. You combine application, signalling, infrastructure and cloud knowledge to turn business and architectural needs into reliable production solutions. Demonstrate technical leadership and act as the team point of contact for assigned projects and services. Own the technical scope, planning, quality and delivery of your solutions, while communicating progress and risks proactively. Anticipate capacity, lifecycle, resilience and connectivity needs and translate them into an optimal design. Work closely with project teams, operations, architecture, security, data-centre teams and suppliers. Your responsibilities Design, implement, test and roll out technical solutions that introduce new services or improve existing voice-platforms capabilities. Coordinate deliverables from suppliers and internal delivery teams, challenge proposed solutions when needed and follow up on quality and deadlines. Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, implementation procedures, MOPs, test plans and operational procedures. Provide expert support to operational and internal teams and ensure clear, mutually agreed hand-over into operations. Prepare accurate work orders and planned interventions, coordinate their execution and follow them through to completion. Support platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, migrations, capacity evolution and technology refreshes. Troubleshoot complex incidents using a structured end-to-end approach across applications, signalling, network and infrastructure layers. Report service, project and infrastructure status to key stakeholders and management in a consistent and proactive way. Participate in the on-call service and help coordinate the resolution of out-of-hours incidents on Voice platforms.
