Manages YouthCare's volunteer program and community partnerships, overseeing volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, recognition, and community giving initiatives while building relationships with corporations and community groups. Uses Golden and Blackbaud CRM systems for volunteer and donor management.

POSITION SUMMARY: YouthCare is seeking a relationship-focused Volunteer & Community Partnerships Specialist serving as the primary connector between YouthCare and the community.
This role will conceptualize and build a Volunteer Program that drives increased engagement, with clear systems to manage donors and drive return engagement. It will lead YouthCare's volunteer program while developing strategic community partnerships that expand volunteer engagement, increase in-kind and revenue support, and deepen community investment. Working collaboratively across the organization, the Program Manager identifies program needs, designs impactful volunteer experiences, coordinates community giving initiatives, and ensures volunteers and partners feel informed, valued, and inspired by the difference they make.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Volunteer Engagement
- Commitment to mission, YouthCare values, and customer service orientation internally and externally.
- Lead and grow YouthCare's volunteer program, including recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, recognition, and stewardship.
- Design meaningful volunteer opportunities that align with agency priorities and program needs.
- Coordinate individual and group volunteer projects, including corporate volunteer days and meal service opportunities.
- Develop volunteer communications, training materials, policies, and recognition strategies.
- Maintain volunteer records, background checks, and reporting within volunteer management systems in Golden and Blackbaud CRM.
- Partner with staff across the organization to identify volunteer needs and ensure successful volunteer experiences.
Community Giving & Partnerships
- Act as liaison between the agency and the community.
- Build and steward relationships with corporations, schools, faith communities, civic organizations, and community groups.
- Develop community giving initiatives that increase in-kind donations and volunteer engagement.
- Partner with YouthCare programs and Facilities to identify priority in-kind needs and coordinate timely fulfillment.
- Oversee community donation drives and maintain accurate tracking of donor engagement and in-kind contributions.
- Collaborate with the Development team to promote volunteer opportunities and community impact through storytelling and communications.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Foster collaborative relationships across YouthCare to strengthen volunteer engagement and community partnerships.
- Continuously improve volunteer and community giving systems, processes, and communications.
- Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for volunteers, donors, youth, and staff that reflects YouthCare's values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Participate in department planning, special projects, and other duties that support the success of the Development team.
- Provide administrative, fundraising, and logistical support for major events (e.g., gala, luncheon),
- Work collaboratively with Human Resources on volunteer training, staff training, volunteer policies, background checks, etc.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and psychologically safe environment for all staff, youth, donors, and stakeholders, where individuals feel respected, valued, and supported.
- Ensure the Development Department’s work reflects YouthCare’s mission, values, and commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by modeling inclusive practices and promoting equitable, respectful, and community-centered engagement in all internal and external interactions.
