Volunteer DevOps Engineer (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Volunteer DevOps Engineer with experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based systems. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with a technical team, and gain hands-on experience in cloud operations, automation, and infrastructure management.
Responsibilities Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application delivery Monitor system performance, availability, and security Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Support containerized applications and orchestration platforms Assist with system troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis Collaborate with developers to improve deployment processes and system reliability Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures Recommend and implement best practices for cloud architecture, security, and scalability
Requirements Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Understanding of Linux system administration Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform Experience with CI/CD tools and automation workflows Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Understanding of networking, security groups, load balancers, and cloud security principles Experience with monitoring and logging tools Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications Oracle Cloud certifications Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell Experience managing production or staging environments Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and performance tuning
