Volunteer Engagement Manager

The Volunteer Engagement Manager leads Habitat Omaha's volunteer engagement efforts by developing and executing strategies that recruit, retain, steward, and grow volunteer participation across the organization. This position is accountable for achieving volunteer recruitment and retention goals, building a strong volunteer pipeline, and aligning volunteer capacity with organizational needs and strategic priorities.

The Volunteer Engagement Manager serves as a connector between Habitat Omaha's needs and the interests, skills, and availability of prospective volunteers. The role builds relationships with volunteers and volunteer partners, creates meaningful experiences that foster belonging and long-term engagement, and works closely with Construction and other departments to ensure volunteer opportunities are safe, coordinated, and impactful. As a public-facing representative of Habitat Omaha, this individual serves as a storyteller, ambassador, and community builder who helps connect people to the mission through service, advocacy, and engagement.

Future Reporting Relationship: Beginning in 2027, this position is expected to transition to the Community Outreach & Engagement Department and report to the Senior Manager of Community Outreach & Engagement.
