Volunteer - Outreach Support

Purpose:
To assist agency staff with outreach efforts aimed at engaging and supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in the community, providing essential supplies, information, and connection to shelter and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accompany outreach staff during street outreach, encampment visits, or community walks
• Help distribute hygiene kits, food, clothing, and seasonal items (e.g., blankets, socks)
• Engage respectfully with individuals in need, offering a listening ear and basic support
• Assist in documenting interactions and unmet needs as directed by staff
• Help restock outreach supplies and prepare care packages
• Support follow-up efforts by connecting individuals to shelter, health care, or case management when appropriate
• Promote safety and dignity in all interactions
