Volunteer Position: Patient Greeter

Location: HealthPoint Navasota Clinic
Commitment: Flexible weekday shifts (2 or more hours), mornings or afternoons
Eligibility: 18 years or older

Motivated, friendly and dependable individuals, especially college students and adults, who want to gain real-world experience, give back to their community and make a meaningful impact in a healthcare setting. Pre-med, pre-nursing, public health and other health-related students are strongly encouraged to apply!

At HealthPoint, we believe everyone deserves quality healthcare, and we know that a warm welcome can make a world of difference. We’re seeking compassionate and outgoing volunteers to serve as Patient Greeters: the first friendly faces our patients see when they walk through the door.

This is a meaningful opportunity to support patients, build valuable skills and gain exposure to a clinical environment. Whether you're exploring a future in healthcare or simply want to give back, this role allows you to make a real impact while growing personally and professionally.

What You’ll Do

• Greet patients and visitors with a warm, welcoming attitude

• Help direct individuals to check-in stations, waiting areas, or service points

• Assist patients with forms or digital check-in tools (iPads, kiosks, etc.) as directed by Front Desk Staff

• Provide general directions and answer non-medical questions

• Monitor waiting areas to ensure comfort, cleanliness and safety

• Alert staff if a patient may need immediate assistance

• Support clinic staff with light, non-clinical tasks to improve patient experience

Training and Support: We’ll set you up for success with orientation, guidance on clinic procedures and ongoing support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator.

Flexible Scheduling: Balance volunteering with your classes and other commitments.

What You Bring

• A positive, friendly and respectful attitude

• Interest in healthcare, community service, or patient interaction

• Comfort using tablets, smartphones, or basic tech tools

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to stay calm and helpful in a fast-paced environment

• Reliability and punctuality

• Comfort interacting with diverse populations

• Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus, but not required

Other Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older

• Completion of HealthPoint’s volunteer application and screening process

• Proof of the following immunizations:

  • Varicella

  • MMR

  • Tdap

  • TB Screening

• Acknowledge that this is an unpaid, volunteer position
