Location: Onsite - 918 Jasper Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001 or 200 W. Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI 49017

Purpose of Position:
Oversee all organizational volunteers including those placed in grant programs including the Senior Companion Program and RSVP Program in various capacities (Friendly Reassurance/Telephone Reassurance, Senior Companion, Grand Pads, Etc.). Provide support and coordination for the Volunteer Services Program and all Agency Volunteers.
For State/Federal AmeriCorps program identification purposes this position will be referred to as “SCP Program Director/RSVP Program Director” in all external communication. This position will work directly with volunteers, clients, and their supervisors at numerous locations in both Kalamazoo and Calhoun County.

Essential Functions:
  1. Responsible for all agency volunteer schedules.
  2. Provide fiscal direction and oversight of all Volunteer Services Programs include tracking donations, creating annual operating budgets, and providing all necessary information and financial reporting for billing and requisitions.
  3. Recruit, on board, supervise, recognize, and support all agency volunteers.
  4. Manage/Supervise Volunteer Services Team.
  5. Prepare and submit timely submission of all Volunteer Service Program grant applications, application amendments, progress reports, and funder documents as needed in collaboration with grant writer.
  6. Promote the agency in the community so that dignity and independence of older adults are maintained.
  7. Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with agency volunteers, including providing orientation, recognition, and regular communication to support them and their service.
  8. Develop a volunteer recruitment and retention strategy and implement across all agency volunteer programs.
  9. Work cooperatively with entire team to write policies/procedures, obtain resources, and implement ongoing public relations opportunities.
  10. Adhere to AmeriCorps/Corporation for National Service (federal) and Aging and Adult Services Agency (state) guidelines for program by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial, staff, program, partner agency, client and volunteer data and records.
  11. Oversee volunteers placed in Companionship in various capacities (Friendly Reassurance/Telephone Reassurance, Senior Companion, Etc.). Oversee coordination of successful matches for companionship clients and volunteers, with a focus on Calhoun County.
  12. Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with RSVP volunteers, including providing orientation, recognition, and regular communication to support them and their service.
  13. Manage and assist with MOU/partner relationships.
  14. Management of Volgistics database.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, construction management, social services, community development, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  2. Experience with volunteer management, scheduling, recruitment and/or retention.
  3. Experience managing federal, state, and other grants.
  4. Experience in supervision and a working knowledge of community resources is preferred.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  6. Experience with Volgistics, ServTracker and/or other database system preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Exempt position with starting salary of $60,801 -$71,974.50, adjusted for experience.
