Duration: Contract to Permanent - 6 Months

Environment: Hybrid in Dallas, TX

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Governance professional to help build and operationalize the risk, compliance, and governance framework for a new Digital Assets Trust entity. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing governance programs across Operational Risk, Compliance Risk Management, and Fiduciary/Trust oversight as the organization prepares for launch, regulatory examinations, and ongoing growth.

The ideal candidate combines deep financial services risk and compliance expertise with exposure to digital assets/crypto and a proven track record of standing up governance programs in highly regulated environments. This individual will work closely with business leaders, compliance, legal, and regulatory stakeholders to establish a robust control environment from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Non-Financial Risk (NFR) governance frameworks for the Digital Assets Trust entity.
  • Develop and enhance Operational Risk governance, controls, oversight, and risk management programs.
  • Build and operationalize Compliance Risk Management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish governance structures to support regulatory readiness and examination preparedness.
  • Create, maintain, and improve risk frameworks, standards, policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Partner with business, risk, legal, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Provide advisory support on risk and compliance considerations related to digital asset custody and trust operations.
  • Establish and oversee Fiduciary and Trust governance programs, ensuring alignment with applicable trust and fiduciary regulations.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory expectations related to digital assets and implement appropriate governance measures.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor while remaining hands-on in the execution and implementation of governance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Services Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Controls, or Governance functions.
  • Strong compliance-focused mindset with significant experience in regulated financial services environments.
  • Direct exposure to Digital Assets, Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, or Institutional Digital Asset Custody operations.
  • Demonstrated success building and operationalizing governance, risk, or compliance frameworks from inception.
  • Experience interacting with regulators and supporting regulatory examinations and audits.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, governance, and regulatory expectations.
  • Knowledge of Trust Law, Fiduciary Law, and Part 9 fiduciary/trust requirements.
  • Ability to effectively partner across business, compliance, legal, risk, audit, and regulatory functions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
