VP of Marketing
Role Overview
The VP of Marketing leads marketing strategy, execution, and performance across FM brands: Musicbed, Filmsupply, and Stills.
This role sits at the intersection of brand and growth. It is responsible for translating each brand’s positioning, business goals, initiatives, and sales priorities into clear campaigns, effective channel strategies, and measurable outcomes.
The right leader will bring strong strategic judgment while remaining close enough to the work to improve execution. They must be equally comfortable shaping brand positioning, evaluating creative, reviewing funnel performance, building an enterprise marketing strategy, and creating the systems that enable a team to operate effectively.
This is not solely a brand leadership position or a traditional demand-generation role. It requires someone who can protect and strengthen premium brands while driving qualified demand, customer acquisition, and revenue.
What This Role Owns
Brand and Campaign Strategy
The VP of Marketing will define how FM’s brands show up in the market and ensure that positioning translates into compelling campaigns and customer experiences.
This includes:
Translating brand strategy into messaging, campaigns, creative direction, channel plans, and sales enablement.
Maintaining a clear and differentiated position for Musicbed, Filmsupply, and Stills.
Reviewing creative concepts with both strong taste and business context.
Determining which initiatives should become sustained marketing programs versus one-time campaigns.
Identifying and addressing messaging, creative, or campaign decisions that could weaken the brands.
Growth and Channel Performance
The VP will own the marketing levers that influence account creation, qualified leads, customer requests, trials, subscriptions, purchases, repeat purchases, and pipeline.
This includes:
Evaluating performance across paid media, email, lifecycle, SEO, AEO, content, social, and emerging channels.
Distinguishing between volume and meaningful customer quality.
Diagnosing performance issues across marketing, product, and sales handoffs.
Making informed budget decisions using CAC, customer value, and downstream conversion.
Establishing a consistent system for creative testing and consistent refreshes.
Scaling output through the appropriate combination of internal resources, contractors, and agencies.
Enterprise and Account-Based Marketing
The VP will lead FM’s enterprise and account-based marketing strategy in close partnership with Sales.
This includes:
Developing the strategy for priority accounts and market segments.
Building coordinated campaigns across advertising, email, landing pages, gifting, events, sales outreach, and relationship development.
Partnering with Sales on messaging, coverage, and follow-up.
Creating visibility into the marketing and sales activity underway for each priority account.
Product Marketing
The VP will build a consistent approach to launching product improvements and communicating value throughout the customer journey.
This includes:
Establishing launch tiers based on the importance and customer impact of each product initiative.
Translating product capabilities into clear customer-facing value.
Creating coordinated launch plans across email, social, paid media, in-product communication, and sales enablement.
Partnering with Product to define success measures.
Improving acquisition, onboarding, product adoption, retention, and sales-handoff communications.
Ensuring lifecycle communication feels relevant, authentic, and appropriate for each brand.
Team and Operational Leadership
The VP will lead the structure, capability, and operating rhythm of the marketing and creative team.
This includes:
Setting clear goals, priorities, ownership, and accountability.
Developing team members through effective coaching and feedback.
Building operating rhythms that produce decisions and better work, not simply status updates.
Identifying capability or capacity gaps and recommending the right solution.
Hiring and developing people who improve the quality, speed, and effectiveness of the organization.
Strengthening the Marketing collaboration between Content, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance.
Experience and Capabilities
The ideal candidate brings:
Senior marketing leadership experience spanning brand, growth, demand generation, lifecycle, paid media, and product marketing.
Experience leading marketing across multiple brands, products, or customer segments.
A strong understanding of both B2B and B2C marketing, particularly where enterprise and self-service models coexist.
Demonstrated success partnering with Sales on enterprise pipeline, account-based marketing, events, account strategy, and lead quality.
Strong judgment across positioning, messaging, creative direction, channel strategy, and campaign execution.
Comfort using performance data to evaluate funnels, customer acquisition costs, lead quality, conversion, and budget tradeoffs.
Experience partnering with Product and Engineering on launches, customer journeys, analytics, and conversion.
A practical understanding of SEO, AEO, AI-assisted discovery, content strategy, and evolving customer behavior.
Strong leadership, coaching, hiring, and organizational-design capabilities.
Experience scaling output through internal teams, contractors, agencies, systems, and technology.
High creative and editorial standards.
Clear communication skills and credible executive presence.
