Description/Job Summary:

VP of Sales, Public Safety, & Entertainment

Job Type: Full-Time, Salary Exempt

Travel Required: 50%-75%, including evenings, weekends, and event-day coverage

Global K9 Protection Group LLC is looking for a dedicated and passionate VP of Sales, Public Safety, & Entertainmentto serve as an integral part of the GK9PG Team.

Position Summary:

Global K9 Protection Group is building out its Public Safety & Entertainment vertical, and we are hiring two Sales Vice Presidents with proven success to grow it. This is a builder’s role, not a territory-maintenance role. You will own new-revenue growth across sports and entertainment venues, law enforcement agencies, K–12 and higher-education institutions, corporate and critical-infrastructure sites, and large public gatherings within your assigned region.

GK9 already screens millions of pieces of air cargo and thousands of people every day for the nation’s largest airlines and airports under TSA certification. The same explosive-detection canine capability, the same handler training pipeline, and the same certification discipline are directly transferable to stadiums, arenas, campuses, city police departments, and public events — markets where GK9 is currently under-represented relative to its operational strength. Your job is to convert that operational credibility into contracted revenue.

You will report directly to the Chief of Public Safety & Entertainment and work as a founding member of a small, senior, fast-moving commercial team with direct visibility to GK9’s Executive Chairman.

Who We Are:

Global K9 Protection Group (GK9) is a veteran-owned, TSA-certified canine detection and aviation security company headquartered in Opelika, Alabama. We field approximately 483 certified canine handler teams across more than 24 U.S. airport locations, with international operations in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium. We train, certify, and deploy our own explosive-detection canines and we train and sustain our own handlers — an end-to-end capability that very few competitors in this industry can claim. We are a company of roughly 650 people where the front line does the most important work, and where a business development/sales leader can still get a decision made in a single phone call.

Territory & Segment Ownership:

Each Vice President owns full-segment revenue responsibility within an assigned geography, and additionally serves as the national Center of Excellence lead for one buyer segment — building the playbook, pricing templates, credentialing, and competitive intelligence that both territories draw on.

Final territory assignment will be made at offer stage based on candidate location and segment background.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation

  • Own the number. Carry and achieve an annual new-business quota for the assigned territory, measured in first-year contract value.
  • Build pipeline from scratch. Source, qualify, and advance opportunities through self-generated outbound activity, industry associations, conferences, referrals, and the GK9 network. This vertical does not have an inherited book of business.
  • Run the full cycle. Prospect, discover, scope, price, propose, negotiate, and close — then transition cleanly to operations.
  • Expand existing relationships. Identify and pursue public safety opportunities inside GK9’s existing aviation and cargo customer base, in coordination with the Chief of Public Safety & Entertainment.

Public-Sector & Bid Management

  • Complete and maintain all vendor registrations, prequalification’s, and cooperative purchasing vehicle enrollments required to sell in the assigned territory.
  • Monitor solicitation channels for relevant RFPs, RFQs, IFBs, and RFIs; make disciplined bid/no-bid recommendations rather than chasing every notice.
  • Coordinate proposal development with Finance, Strategy and Development, Canine Operations, and Legal; own narrative content, pricing assumptions, and on-time submission.
  • Develop working fluency in federal, state, and local funding sources that pay for canine detection services — school safety grants, DHS and FEMA preparedness programs, COPS funding, and municipal capital budgets — and help buyers find the money.

Solution Design & Deal Integrity

  • Scope what GK9 can actually deliver. Validate canine and handler availability with Canine Operations before committing to deployment dates. A signed contract GK9 cannot staff is a loss, not a win.
  • Model deal economics with Finance to protect gross margin, and defend price rather than discounting to close.
  • Structure multi-year agreements, event-based and surge staffing arrangements, and blended service models that fit the buyer’s procurement reality.

Market Intelligence & Discipline

  • Maintain accurate, current opportunity records, forecasts, and activity data in the company CRM. Forecast accuracy is a performance measure, not an administrative chore.
  • Deliver a monthly territory review to the Chief of Public Safety & Entertainment covering pipeline coverage, stage progression, win/loss analysis, and competitive movement.
  • Track competitor pricing, positioning, and personnel movement in the vertical and report material developments promptly.
  • Represent GK9 at industry conferences, association meetings, and trade events, including chiefs’ associations, stadium and venue security forums, school safety conferences, and sports operations events.

Brand & Conduct

  • Represent GK9 with the professionalism expected of a company that puts uniformed handlers and working dogs in front of the public every day.
  • Protect the welfare and reputation of GK9 canines in every customer conversation, demonstration, and marketing activity.
  • Comply fully with GK9 confidentiality, non-solicitation, and information security obligations.
