- 15+ years in software engineering including 5+ years leading large, global engineering organizations through Directors and managers
- Ownership of business outcomes for an engineering organization including delivery, reliability, security, and overall performance
- Partnership as an equal with Product Management to shape vision, roadmap, and priorities
- Experience leading engineering for enterprise SaaS products at significant scale
- Execution with rigor delivering production-grade systems balancing speed with security, privacy, and compliance
- Ability to prioritize across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Bias for action and ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with focus on measurable business impact
- Deep fluency in modern software engineering including cloud-native architecture, platform engineering, microservices and API-first design, DevOps, data platforms, and AI/ML
- Technical credibility to earn trust of senior engineers and engage in key architecture and technical decisions
- Championing AI-native ways of working with a track record of AI adoption and large-scale technology modernization
- Track record of operational excellence and reliability engineering including SLOs, incident management, quality, security across always-on services
- Designing organizations for scale across regions and planning workforce and budgets against delivery commitments
- Communication and influence at executive level bridging engineering and business and aligning diverse stakeholders around shared strategy
- Hiring, coaching, and developing senior engineering leaders and experts
- Building diverse, inclusive, high-performing cultures
- Experience delivering software in a regulated or security-sensitive domain such as GRC, governance/risk/compliance, fintech, or other trust-critical enterprise software
- Hands-on familiarity with modern AI platforms and agentic tooling including LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, MCP, AI-assisted development
- Experience leading distributed, multi-region engineering teams
